It is our great honor and pleasure to invite you to the XXVIth International Symposium on Bioelectrochemistry and Bioenergetics of the Bioelectrochemical Society with a focus on «Bioelectrochemistry for improved Life Quality» to be held ONLINE between the 9th and 13th of May 2021. Although initially planned to be hosted in the heart of Transylvania, within the city of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, considering the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the BES Council together with the Local Organizers, have opted for the organization of the online version of the meeting.
The main purpose of the symposium is to provide a forum for in-depth discussions on various aspects of bioelectrochemistry, as well as, to offer an opportunity to PhD students and young researchers to deepen their knowledge in various fundamental and practical aspects of modern bioelectrochemical investigations.
The symposium aims to focus on the main aspects of the highly interdisciplinary areas of Bioelectrochemistry and Bioenergetics within the frame of environmental and biomedical analysis, involving smart nanostructured materials and redox polymers, biosensors, biofuel cells, biocorrosion, electron transport in biological systems, molecular recognition and many more.
Therefore, an extensive selection of lectures given by leading scientists presenting the recent trends in some of the major research fields involving bioelectrochemical investigations is scheduled. In order to encourage discussions on the topics of interest and to promote future collaborations a special poster session dedicated to young researchers will also be organized.
Furthermore, short updates on instrumental advances of several companies developing scientific equipment for electrochemistry is intended.
On this occasion Giulio Milazzo Prize and Luigi Galvani Prize will be awarded on behalf of the Bioelectrochemical Society. Please see all the details about the BES Awards at: http://www.bioelectrochemical-soc.org.
Along the outstanding scientific content a stimulating social program will assure a warm and unforgettable atmosphere of this event.
